Dear Daniel Boone High School Parents and Guardians,
Just an important reminder that the high-stakes testing window, including End-of-Course (EOC) assessments and comprehensive Final Exams, begins tomorrow. We urge you to review the following schedule and information to ensure your student is prepared for this crucial period.
The EOC exams are state-mandated assessments that are part of the Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program (TCAP). They are designed to measure your child’s mastery and growth in key academic subjects, specifically testing his/her understanding of the Tennessee Academic Standards learned throughout the semester.
These assessments are important because state board policy mandates that the EOC score be factored into your child’s final course grade.
EOC testing for applicable block classes will take place over the next two weeks. Please have your child check the official DBHS EOC schedule for specific dates and times, as testing blocks can vary by subject and teacher.
Courses participating in EOC testing include:
English 9
English 10
Biology
US History
Algebra 1
Algebra 2
Geometry
In addition to the EOCs, all other courses will administer traditional Final Exams next week according to the following block schedule:
Monday, December 15: 1st Block and 4th Block
Tuesday, December 16: 2nd Block and 5th Block
Wednesday, December 17: 3rd Block

Attendance is critical during this two-week testing window. Missing an exam day can significantly complicate a student’s ability to complete the required assessments on time.
As both the EOCs and the Final Exams count toward students’ final grades, their preparation is paramount. Please help support your child by emphasizing the following:
Adequate Rest: Please ensure your child goes to bed at a reasonable time and is well-rested for the upcoming days. A good night's sleep is the best study tool.
Healthy Start: Encourage a nutritious breakfast on testing mornings.
Materials: Remind them to bring all necessary materials (especially their charged Chromebook). For specific details regarding how these tests are factored into the final grade, please refer to the official DBHS Student Handbook.
Thank you for your partnership in ensuring a successful conclusion to the fall semester. We wish all our students the best of luck!
Sincerely,
The Administration and Staff of Daniel Boone High School
