Spelling Bee Winners

Ridgeview Elementary students have been busy preparing for their 4th annual Spelling Bee which took place Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 5:30 p.m. in the Ridgeview gymnasium. The school sponsored the Spelling Bee in association with Scripps National Spelling Bee, an organization that has been around since 1925 and has a mission of illuminating pathways to lifelong curiosity, celebrating academic achievement and enriching communities”.

At Ridgeview, each classroom had their own spelling bee or special spelling tests to identify a classroom representative to compete in the school level Bee. The school level Bee began with grades 1-4 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. with grades 5-8 competition beginning at 6:30 p.m.  Top two winners of each group will go on to participate in the County Bee at Jonesborough Elementary School on February 17, 2026 at 6:00 p.m.  Additionally, the first place winner of the 5-8 grade competition will be named School Champion and will participate in an online test to qualify for a chance to compete in the Tennessee Titans Regional Bee at Nissan Stadium on March 21, 2026.  Only the top 50 School Champions will go on to the Regional Bee.

For the Ridgeview contestants, excellence is its own reward, however, students will receive the following recognition and prizes for their hard work. 

      All contestants receive an official Scripps participation certificate.

      1st-3rd place winners receive a sweet treat from The Scoop Ice Cream Parlor.

      2nd and 3rd place winners will receive medals

      1st place winner receives a trophy
