As part of our continued commitment to school safety, Lamar School now has a secure vestibule entrance system in place at the main entrance. We wanted to share important information about the new visitor procedures so families know what to expect when arriving at school.
When arriving at the school entrance:
• Visitors must ring the exterior doorbell.
• Please clearly state your name and the reason for your visit.
• Office staff will respond and unlock the door remotely.
• Once you hear the “click,” you may enter the vestibule.
Inside the vestibule:
🔹 If you are signing a student IN:
• Use the provided Chromebook to complete the sign-in process.
• Your student should ring the bell for office staff.
• When you hear the click, pull the door open to enter the office.
🔹 If you are signing a student OUT:
• Ring the bell and state the student’s name(s).
• Complete the sign-out process on the Chromebook.
• Please wait in the vestibule for your student.
🔹 If you are dropping off an item:
• Ring the bell and let office staff know who the item is for.
• You may be asked to leave the item in the vestibule.
• Office staff will promptly deliver it to the appropriate person.
For the safety of our students and staff, visitors will only be granted access to the office and/or building if needed.
