It's time to get ready for Kindergarten 2026-2027!
WHO? Children entering Kindergarten in Fall 2026 Child must be 5 years old on or before August 15, 2026 and will be entering Kindergarten in a Washington County school in the fall.
WHAT? Kindergarten Registration
Please bring to the school:
Tennessee Immunization Certificate/Physical form (dated within one year prior to the time the child will enter school)
Official birth certificate (If the child was born in TN and you don’t have a birth certificate, you may get one at the Washington County Health Department for a small fee.)
Proof of residence address (e.g., utility bill) You need to bring the information you have in order to get the Kindergarten registration started so your child will be ready to begin school in the fall.
WHEN? Thursday, March 5th, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; Evening registration option between 4:00 - 6:00 pm or Monday, May 4th, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.; Evening registration option between 4:00 - 6:00 p.m.
No registration will be held if schools are closed due to inclement weather. If you are unable to attend the above dates you can drop by your zoned school anytime between 8:00 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.
WHERE? You should bring the above information to the Washington County elementary school nearest the child’s home. You may find your child’s school of residence at MYRIDE K-12 - Find Your School Zone. These schools include Boones Creek, Fall Branch, Grandview, Gray, Jonesborough Elem., Lamar, Ridgeview, South Central, Sulphur Springs, and West View.
You will be asked to complete some student information and have all your forms verified during registration. Please allow 15 to 30 minutes for registration.
