ginger luya cte supervisor

Washington County Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Ginger Luya as the district’s next Career and Technical Education (CTE) Supervisor. Luya brings more than 15 years of experience in education, including administrative and instructional leadership roles in Washington County Schools and Williamson County Schools.

Most recently, Luya served as Assistant Principal at Daniel Boone High School, where she led initiatives focused on developing student and teacher leadership, supporting personal and professional growth, and strengthening a positive school culture.

An ETSU Principal Corps Scholar, Luya holds an Education Specialist (Ed.S.) degree from East Tennessee State University through the Administrative Endorsement concentration. She is currently pursuing a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) in School Leadership through ETSU’s Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis program.

As CTE Supervisor, Luya will provide districtwide leadership for Washington County Schools’ career and technical education programs, with a focus on expanding high-quality career pathways, strengthening connections between schools and the regional workforce, supporting CTE educators, and ensuring students graduate prepared for success in college, career, and life.

“Ginger brings a strong combination of instructional leadership, administrative experience, and a genuine commitment to creating opportunities for students,” said Washington County Schools Superintendent Jerry Boyd. “Career and technical education is an essential part of our commitment to ensuring every student graduates globally competitive and community-minded. Ginger understands that effective CTE programs must connect rigorous learning with real opportunities for students beyond high school. I am confident her leadership will strengthen our existing programs, deepen our partnerships with business, industry, and postsecondary institutions, and help us continue building pathways that prepare our students for the workforce of today and tomorrow.”

Luya’s vision for CTE centers on postsecondary success and expanding career-readiness opportunities through strong community partnerships, support for teachers, and continued development of CTE programs that prepare students for future success.

“I am honored and excited for the opportunity to serve Washington County Schools in this new role,” Luya said. “I look forward to working alongside our students, educators, administrators, community partners, and local employers to build upon the strong foundation of CTE in our district and expand opportunities that help every student discover a pathway to future success.”

Luya’s appointment reflects Washington County Schools’ continued commitment to providing students with relevant, high-quality educational experiences that connect classroom learning with postsecondary education, industry credentials, career opportunities, and the needs of the Washington County and Northeast Tennessee workforce.
