If you are a parent or legal guardian of a student
You have been enrolled automatically via PowerSchool and should be receiving our messages automatically. You may not be receiving text messages if the phone number we have on file for you is a landline or if your phone number is incorrect. Please resolve this by contacting the front office of your child's school and have them check that your phone number and email are correct and up-to-date. If a change is made, it gets applied overnight.
Is it possible that you have "Unsubscribed" from our texts? We started testing our new system in July with less important messages at that time. It is apparent that many parents Unsubscribed, not realizing this was our new communication system. If you think you might have Unsubscribed, simply text START to 98900 to resume SMS alerts.
If you are a grandparent, neighbor, child care facility, news station or any member of our community
We need you to opt in to receive text messages from Washington County TN Schools. Please do so by filling out this form. Please note that this is Washington County in TENNESSEE.
Please do not fill out this form if you are a parent not receiving text messages as it will not resolve your underlying issue which could result in other failed communications. See the previous section.
If you are a school system employee who uses PowerSchool
You should receive our text messages automatically because our text messaging system is pulling your data from PowerSchool. You may not be receiving text messages if the phone number we have on file for you is a landline or if your phone number is incorrect. Please resolve this by contacting the data clerk at your school. If you are a new employee and it has been less than 24 hours, please wait for this addition to take affect.
If you are a current WCDE employee who doesn't use PowerSchool
If you are not in PowerSchool (or you have no idea what PowerSchool is), please see the data clerk at your school (or Nicole Wolfe for Central Office Staff) about being added as Support Staff. Or you can also be added by filling out this form.
