My name is Lindsey Tipton. This will be my fifteenth year teaching. I spent six years teaching first grade, seven years teaching second grade, and this is my second year teaching 3rd grade. I love teaching ELA & I work with an awesome group of teachers! I look forward to a wonderful school year ahead!
I have always been a Gray Knight! I attended Gray School k-8th Grade. I graduated from Daniel Boone High School. I went to college at Tusculum University. While in college, I worked as an instructional assistant at Sulphur Springs. I was also a camp counselor at Doe River Gorge.
My husband, Cole, also attended Gray School k-8th grade. We have a daughter named Pearl. I love spending time with friends and family. I also enjoy spending time with our animals. We have two dogs, named Mia & Margo. We have goats- named Morgan Wallen, Indie, Dolly, & Lucky. We have a pig named Elvis. We have a pony named Tucker. This summer we started raising chickens. I usually have some type of crazy animal story to share with my students. :)
My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that every child is unique, capable, and worthy of love and support. Third grade is a big year- it comes with exciting growth but also lots of responsibility and testing. I want families to know that I'm fully aware of how challenging this year can be, and I'm on your side. While academic growth matters, I believe that test scores do not define a child- their character, creativity, and effort are just as important. In our classroom, I strive to create a space where students feel safe, loved, and confident to be themselves. My goal is always to do what's best for your child, both academically and emotionally, and to support them every step of the way.
