• STUDENT COUNCIL


     

     


    The Student Council at Boones Creek Elementary School consists of four children from each 4th grade classes.  The teacher may choose the students or have the class vote.  These students are used in a lot of ways such as being school leaders, leading the morning pledge, tutoring younger students, hosting new students, etc...

    The representatives of the student council is required to exhibit appropriate 
    behaviors such as
    showing respect for others, use good manners, be honest and fair, try their hardest, obey rules, set a good example, get work done, and use proper language.  The representatives must have work and study habits such as work to the best of their ability, complete work on time, contribute to the topic at hand and work during study time.

    BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL

    ARTICLE I  
    DESIGNATED NAME:

    BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENT COUNCIL

    ARTICLE II   
    PURPOSE:  
    BOONES CREEK STUDENT COUNCIL WILL PROVIDE A WORKING GOVERNMENT FOR THE STUDENT BODY OF BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY.  THEY WILL STRIVE TO GO INTO THE COMMUNITY TO HELP THOSE LESS FORTUNATE.  MEMBERS WILL WORK WITH THE ADMINISTRATION TO BETTER THE SCHOOL AND COMMUNITY.

    ARTICLE III  
    RESPONSIBILITIES OF FACULTY AND ADVISORS:  

    BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL IS RECOGNIZED BY THE BOONES CREEK SCHOOL WHICH SUPPORTS BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL AND MAY VETO DECISIONS OR ACTIONS OF BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL WHEN IN CONFLICT OR VIOLATION OF BOONES CREEK SCHOOL' STATED POLICIES OR GUIDELINES.

    ARTICLE IV   
    TYPE OF ORGANIZATION:  

    BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL IS A REPRESENTATIVE STUDENT ORGANIZATION ADVISED AND ASSISTED BY ADULT ADVISORS OF BOONES CREEK SCHOOL. 

    ARTICLE V   
    ACADEMIC REQUIREMENTS FOR REPRESENTATIVES:  

    EACH REPRESENTATIVE WILL HAVE A C AVERAGE FOR ALL CLASSES TOGETHER.  OFFICERS WILL HAVE NO LESS THAN A C IN EACH CLASS.
     

    CITIZENSHIP:  
    EACH STUDENT WILL FOLLOW THE RULES SET UP IN THE CODE OF ETHICS. EACH COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVE SHALL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HIS OR HER OWN BEHAVIOR.  COUNCIL REPRESENTATIVES ARE ROLE MODELS FOR OTHER STUDENTS AT BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.

    SELECTION OF REPRESENTATIVES AND OFFICERS:  
    OFFICERS WILL BE ELECTED AS SOON AS REPRESENTATIVES ARE CHOSEN FROM EACH 4TH GRADE CLASS. THE CANDIDATES FOR PRESIDENT, VICE-PRESIDENT, SECRETARY AND TREASURER WILL BE FROM THE FOURTH GRADE, A CURRENT STUDENT MEMBER, AND OF GOOD STANDING WITH GRADES.

    ARTICLE VI   
    DUTIES AND POWERS OF OFFICERS:  
    EACH OFFICER WILL FULFILL THEIR DUTIES AS STATED.  THE ADVISORS WILL ASSIST IN EDUCATING THEIR RESPONSIBILITIES.

    ARTICLE VII   
    OFFICER TITLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:  

    PRESIDENT:  THE PRESIDENT WILL CONDUCT THE MEETINGS OF BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL AND REPRESENTS THE COUNCIL AT ALL OFFICIAL FUNCTIONS AND ASSEMBLIES.  

    VICE-PRESIDENT:  THE VICE-PRESIDENT WILL ASSIST THE PRESIDENT WHEN NEEDED AND WILL SERVE IN THE ABSENCE OF THE PRESIDENT.

    SECRETARY:  THE SECRETARY WILL MAINTAIN AN ACCURATE RECORD OF ALL MEETINGS AND PREPARE ALL THE OFFICIAL CORRESPONDENCE.

    TREASURER:  THE TREASURER WILL MAINTAIN AN ACCURATE RECORD OF THE STUDENT'S COUNCIL'S FINANCIAL STATUS.  THE TREASURER WILL WORK TOGETHER WITH THE ADVISOR AND SCHOOL SECRETARY.

    REPRESENTATIVES: WILL REPRESENT THEIR HOMEROOM AND REPORT BACK ANY INFORMATION DISCUSSED AT THE MEETING.  

    ALL OFFICERS AND REPRESENTATIVES WILL FOLLOW THE CODE OF ETHICS ESTABLISHED BY THE BOONES CREEK ELEMENTARY STUDENT COUNCIL.
