Technology Engineering Education
Mr. David Shell, Instructor & TSA Advisor
Technology Engineering Education involves students in hands on problem solving and critical thinking skills. Project based courses for 2012 - 2013 include Technological Issues (9-10), Advance Design Applications (10-11) and Engineering Design (11-12). Click on Standards and Competencies for more information on each of these courses. Students participate in a number of projects, giving them the opportunity to learn and apply the engineering design process as well as 3-D graphics software, CNC Plasma cutting and metals fabrication. Students also have the opportunity to join the Daniel Boone Technology Student Association (TSA). Members compete in a wide variety of contests with high school students from across the Region, State, and Nation, as well as participate in community service and leadership development activities. Due to the dedication of Daniel Boone's TSA members, we have become one of the premier chapters in Tennessee.
Our curriculum will again include Vex Robotics, which will allow our Engineering Design students and TSA members to design and build a variety of robots which may be used in competitions with other high school students.
