Clinic Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30-3:30
Parents and Students: Please remember to ask your teachers before eating snacks in the classroom due to other possible student allergies. It is very important that we be preventative to allergic reactions to help keep our students safe and healthy.
Reminder to all 6th graders: Prior to entering 7th grade you must have documented proof on a Tennessee State Immunization Form that you have recieved the Tdap booster and are up-to-date on all vaccinations. Students who do not have this documentation, a medical exemption, or a religious exemption turned into the school nurse by the first day of 7th grade will be excluded from school with an unexcused absence until documentation or an appointment card is presented to the nurse.
Lamar does not supply any medications. If you student needs over the counter medicaitons, including Tylenol, Ibuprofen, cough drops, etc. a parent/guardian must present the medication to the school nurse and sign a Medicaiton Permission form before the nurse is able to give any medicaiton. A student may NOT bring in any medication to the school even to give to the nurse. It must be brought in by a parent or guardian only. If a student brings in medication they will not be able to take it until a parent or guardian comes to the school to sign the Medication Permission form.
If your student has an Inhaler, EpiPen, Diastat, or any other form of Emergency medication, please contact the school nurse. A parent/guardian must bring medication to the school nurse for it to be safely stored in the clinic and to fill out an IHP and Medication Administration Form.
I understand that this is a lot of information and protocol. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Nurse Rowe at (423) 753-1130.
