Every student has nightly reading homework. Students are given a Read Every Day R.E.D. folder with a book on their level. Please listen and help your child read this book daily and when they are ready for a more challenging book log it in the pages provided so I can give them a new book. Reading every day is one way to improve a student's reading, vocabulary, and confidence. Thank you for reading with your student!
Update: I have recently read with your students again to see their growth since the beginning of the year. I am so beyond thrilled by the readers in my classroom!! Students are now responsible for picking out, and exchanging their books when they are ready. They do know their level so they should be able to pick books right on their level, but I will still be checking in on them. Thank you for all you have done at home! :)
Please check the School Closure Work page daily. There will be details on the assignments that I sent home and free online resources. I will take up the work when we come back to school and this will be graded by effort. Do your very best on this work so students do not fall behind or forget anything we have learned this year and they will be more prepared for next year!
Kindergarten registration for students starting in Fall of 2020 is coming up. I am attaching the brochure with all the information to this webpage for anyone needing it.
The best ways to get in touch with me are to put a note in your child's folder (I check these everyday), email me at email@example.com , or on class dojo for more immediate contact. I use class dojo frequently to post announcements in the moment and reach out to parents if students have questions for their parents during the day. Our Class Dojo code is P9VVYWE9W.
