Mrs. Emily Marshall
I'm Emily Marshall, an educator of exceptional students at Grandview Elementary. It is my belief that every student can learn, grow, and thrive, and it is my goal to support, guide, and inspire them to the best of my ability. I am thankful to be able to teach in a school that values the whole child and invests in growing students, according to their unique capabilities.
Last year was my first year teaching in TN, having just moved with my family from near Baltimore, MD. My family includes my husband, two sons, two cats, and one dog. Before beginning teaching in Baltimore City 5 years ago, I was a stay-at-home mom, part-time ministry coordinator, and musician. I have been teaching as long as I can remember, whether it was my little sister and "playing school" as a child to piano lessons in my home.
Teaching is truly my job and my JOY!
I Will Grow
By Emily Marshall
I am a seed, I will grow,
The more I read, the more I know,
My leaves stretch high, my roots reach low,
Sometimes it takes a while to show,
I know I will reap, what I sow,
I am a seed, I will grow!
To all of the Awesome Parents/Grandparents/Guardians!
We have been partners together in your child's education all year, and the change in your child's learning environment does not change that.
I have had the pleasure of meeting with you or talking with most of you on the phone about your child's growth, goals, and accommodations. This will continue. It may be in a different format, but I want you to know that I am committed to being as helpful and available as possible.
Even though most of the RTI interventions I deliver are best taught in person, there are some strategies that your child will be familiar with that will help them access the general education curriculum and continue building their skills.
Please email me with any questions. Check my class website for postings on teaching and implementing accommodations at home, student activities, and some learning challenges!
All the best,
