Hello Grandview Eagles!

My name is Morgan Young and I am the Middle School Special Education Interventionist here at Grandview!

I am excited to spend this year growing with your students and discovering the most effective way to help them learn and succeed. This is my second year at Grandview and I can't wait to see all of the amazing things we accomplish this year.

Please feel free to contact me at any time with any questions or concerns. My email is:

One of the interventions we will be using this year is SPIRE. This program helps students build basic reading skills.
Making Connections provides students with an opportunity to build comprehension skills.
  • Hello students and families,

I hope you enjoyed your week off from school and had a fun time over the course of spring break! I sure do miss each of you and the time that we spend together each day. My days are definitely not as entertaining without you all. I miss you jokes, funny stories, and even my 7th and 8th graders picking on me for being short and drinking to much coffee!! I can not wait for the day that we get to be togeher at school again. I am going to update my web page with a few activities for you to work on over the course of this next week. As always, please email me if you have ANY problems this week, need help with any of your classwork, or if you just want to check in. I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU!!! Please don't stress about the work load, email me, we will work something out.

IXL- All students should have access to their IXL usernames and passwords ( if you do not, let me know). Under the resources tab, I have provided some reccomended skills that we have worked on this year thus far.

Read180- If you have a read180 account, I reccomend that students log on for about 20 mintues days a week. Read 180 will help mantain fluency and comprhension skills while away from school. If you need your childs log in information for read180, please let me know.

1 Minute Reading Challenges- Parents, I encourgae you to print several of these 1 minute reading passages on your childs reading level. Set a timer for one minute and see how many words they can read. Doing this will continue building fleuncy skills while away from school.  The link for this is also on the resources page.

I will update these activities on Sunday evening of each week we are out of school, so please check back.  if at any time you have questions, need a username and password, or would like more activities for you child to do, please let me know! My email is: If you need help providing accommodations while at home, please let me know, I would be happy to help in any way that I can.

Once again, I hope that all of you have a restful and relaxing extended break. Take some time to play board games, watch movies, or read a good book!

    See you all soon!

    Ms. Young
