    Monday, March 23, 2020-Friday, March 27, 2020: 

    1) BEFORE reading the article- "A Dangerous Landslide" please create a KWL chart on a piece of notebook paper and write 3 bullet points for the "know" column. This will be information that you already know about landslides. Next, write 3 questions for the "wonder" column about information on landslides you want to learn more about. Leave the "learn" column blank until after you finish reading the article.

    2) Read the article-"A Dangerous Landslide" and answer comprehension questions 1-10. Please remember to use complete sentences for numbers 8, 9, and 10.

    3) Use the vocabulary word- "damage" in a sentence of your own. Fill in your "learned" column of your KWL chart with three new pieces of information you read in the article.

    Monday, March 23, 2020- Friday, March 27, 2020:

    1) Read the article- "They Need Fire" and answer guiding questions. Make notes about how the plants and animals discussed in the text are affected by fire. (Click on the highlighter tool and type your notes in the annotation box that pops up)

    2) Answer assessment questions (#1-5) and use highlighting tool to locate answers in the passage. Number 5 is a short response- please remember to use complete sentences.

    3) Answer the discussion question using 3-5 complete sentences.

    5th Grade

    Wednesday, March 18, 2020- Read the CommonLit article- "The Wild Horses of Assateague Island" and answer guiding questions. Make notes about the wild horses contact with humans and how they survive on the island. (Click on the highlighter tool and type your notes in the annotation box that pops up)
    Thursday, March 19, 2020- Answer assessment questions (#1-5) and use highlighting tool to locate answers in the passage.
    Friday, March 20, 2020- Answer the discussion question using complete sentences and the RACE method. I will give 4 DoJo points to students that remember to include all 4 parts :-) I have posted the discussion question to our google classroom. Please type your response in the comment box. Do not reply to any other posts at this time.

    Monday, March 23, 2020- I have returned the CommonLit assignment back to some students for corrections. Please resubmit if it has been returned to you (I am giving out 3 dojo points for those that make a 100%!) Next, answer the discussion question on google classroom if you have not done so already. Remember to use the RACE method in your response!

    Tuesday, March 24, 2020- Comment on two classmates' posts for our discussion question on google classroom. You will first give them positive feedback by stating a few things they did well in their response. Then, you will tell them if you agree or disagree with their opinion on humans helping the horses on Assateague Island and why you feel that way.  

    Wednesday, March 25, 2020- Read the article- "Should We Get Rid of Daylight Saving Time" on Storyworks. You can find it in the March/April issue. Use the classcode- sleepwin6. 

    Thursday, March 26, 2020- Complete the Storyworks quiz on google classroom- remember to use RACE method for the short answer questions (#7 and 8). I will give 4 Dojo points for remembering all parts of RACE :-) 

    Friday, March 27, 2020- Review score on Storyworks quiz (these are sent to your email) and please send me an email with corrections on the questions you missed. You will send your email to forsbergc@wcde.org.

Welcome to Mrs. Forsberg's classroom webpage! I am the special education interventionist for grades 3-5. This is my 3rd year teaching, and I am so excited to be experiencing it here at Ridgeview! My goal is to inspire my students to be passionate about their learning. I strive to always provide them with an environment where they feel comfortable learning new things and are motivated to try their best. The quickest way to reach me is through our class DoJo. It is a great way for us to communicate with each other throughout the school year and allows easy tracking of your child's behavior daily. Five Fun Facts about Mrs. Forsberg: 

1. I grew up in Gaithersburg, Maryland and moved down to Tennessee to attend school at Tusculum University.

2. I played on the women's golf team for four years.

3. I love to spend time outdoors horseback riding, running, golfing, and hiking.

4. I have a very spoiled bambino cat named Petunia (she's hairless!)
