Mrs. Rhodes

Hello, I grew up in Jonesborough and attended David Crockett High School, ETSU, and Milligan.  I also co-sponsor Student Council and Beta Club.  I love working with students at all levels.

  • As we continue navigating COVID-19, our local EMA Director, Rusty Sells, has asked that we support our first responders and healthcare workers on the frontline by writing letters of encouragement. He would greatly appreciate and encourage teachers to reach out to their students with this request also. I would suggest letters can be dropped off at schools on the days of food distribution. I have also listed a few additional options below.

The letters can be mailed to:
    EMA
    4724 Lake Park Drive
    Johnson City, TN 37615.

Letters can also be dropped off at ETSU on April 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th. The location will be the first floor parking garage.  Medical students are collecting personal protective equipment and letters of encouragement.

    PLEASE READ EVERY DAY!!!!!

We will begin using Moby Max for ELA and Social Studies Monday April 6th.  This will allow student curriculum to be somewhat uniform throughout this uprecedented closure.  Moby Max is an adaptive program at which students work within their ability performance level. I will be monitoring their work/progress.  They will need to work 30 minutes in ELA, and 30 minutes within Social Studies each day. I will inform you of any changes to assignments through Remind, as well as updating our classroom webpage.

HAPPY LAST WEEK OF SCHOOL!  I hope you all enjoy your summer break with no virtual lessons. Please remember to get outside and explore and learn things, but also take time to read something you enjoy!  Love and Hugs!

Last week assignment:  Please finish reading The Watsons go to Birmingham and do a journal entry for the book.  How did you like it?  Was it thought provoking?  Why/why not?  Would you choose to read another book by this author?  If you liked this author, then you might like Bud, Not Buddy.

I highly reccommend that you keep a journal for yourself during this time because this period will be in history and you will be telling it to your children and grandchildren.  R
