This will not be my last contact with you, but this will be my last blog post. I want to first tell you again how proud I am of so many of you who reached out to me and kept in contact with me. I am also so proud of all the work you have been doing. I am sure many of you, like me, wished this year would have ended differently, but I am honored to still be your 7th grade math teacher and am so proud of the way so many of you have faced this time with a positive, learning attitude. I pray you and your family stays well, and that you enjoy all the things this summer offers. This is not goodbye… only, see you soon!

    I LOVE YOU ALL...

  • Thursday Throwback...

Posted by Sarah Ratliff on 5/14/2020 5:00:00 AM

Today I worked in my classroom, and I’m not going to lie… I cried like a big baby sitting in there all by myself. I reminisced a lot about how life was and how much I missed you guys and our daily routine. We would be having so much fun right now. Do you ever have days where you are just caught in this cycle of thinking about the way things were. That was me. I guess you could say that I was living in a state of “throwback.” Just know that I miss you all so incredibly much and as much as I hate this, I love you all enough to want you to stay safe.

I don’t have a whole lot of information for you today. PLEASE REMEMBER TO EMAIL ME BY THE END OF THE DAY IF YOU HAVE WORKED ON A PACKET! I will be entering grades and really need to know if you have done this.

If you have any questions please feel free to call or text me. I can’t wait to see you all next Friday as you drive through to get your things!

    Love- Mrs. R

  • Wednesday Vibes...

Posted by Sarah Ratliff on 5/13/2020 5:00:00 AM

I don’t know about you all, but I always feel like the last two weeks of school are some of the busiest. Even with all the craziness of distance learning, it still feels like there is always something else to do. There are also a lot of things to keep up with. I hope you all got my email about the times for pickup on May 22nd (next Friday.) Here are a few important reminders.

    1. Keep working! If you have done ANY WORK in paper packet please please please let me know ASAP.
    2. All grades will be finalized in POWERSCHOOL by Monday morning.
    3. 7th grade pick up time will be from 12-12:45 next Monday. (If you can not make it during that time, or choose to come at another time on that day, you will still be able to pick up your things.)

If you have any questions for me please email me or call me. I did not have email for a while yesterday so if I missed an email from you I am so sorry! I miss and love you all and can’t wait to see you next Friday when you pick up your things.

    Love- Mrs. R

  • Baby Steps...

Posted by Sarah Ratliff on 5/12/2020 5:00:00 AM

I hope you guys had a great Monday! I have to share with you something super exciting. I went out to dinner with my husband last night! This may not seem like a big deal to you all, but this is something that we both really enjoy doing. We both work long hours in a normal week and going out to dinner is sometimes our only opportunity to really talk to each other. We haven’t been out in almost 2 months until last night. It was so nice to sit in a restaurant and have someone wait on us. I know my husband is tired of my cooking and I’m totally tired of cooking. :)

I hope that as you begin to take baby steps back into “normal” life, you will see what fun things we did that we often took for granted. (Like going out to eat or spending time with friends and family.)

I sent you an email last night (and also sent it to your parents) about how and when you will pick up your report cards. I can’t wait to see you all even if it's just through the car window!

Please keep working this last week. I will start to enter grades within the next day.

I love and miss you all! Have a wonderful Tuesday!

  • LAST WORKING MONDAY...

Posted by Sarah Ratliff on 5/11/2020 5:00:00 AM

So this is the last week you will have to do work at home as 7th graders! YYYYAAAYYYYY! Isn’t that exciting! :) A few things to remember!

    1. If the work says it's due My 11th in KHAN Academy, don’t worry. You will still be able to access the assignments this week. I DO NOT EXPECT YOU TO DO ALL OF THEM! RATHER I EXPECT TO SEE YOU TRYING THEM AND CHOOSING WHAT YOU WOULD WISH TO REVIEW!
    2. If you were interested in ordering a t-shit they must be ordered by May 13th! (That is this Wednesday!)

I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Lets give this last week of online work our very best effort! I am so proud of you all and love and miss you dearly!

  • Friday Facts...

Posted by Sarah Ratliff on 5/8/2020 5:00:00 AM

Here are some important tid-bits of information for you as we head into next week.

    1. If you worked on any packet I MUST KNOW BY NEXT THURSDAY. (Even if you are not able to turn it in, please let me know that you worked on it.)
    2. Instead of a 7th grade Honors Day, we will send a presentation in google slides (on May 22nd) to announce who our 7th grade awards will be given to. If you get an award, it will be with your report card on May 22nd.
    3. If you have anything to return to school (uniforms, books, etc.) please contact me at (423)483-5742 and I will help schedule a time for you to be able to drop threse items off.
    4. KHAN Academy assignments have a due date of May 11th, but you can work on them after this date as well. I will do a final assessment of participation on May 15th. I AM NOT EXPECTING ALL ASSIGNMENTS TO BE COMPLETE, rather I am looking to see that you participated in some of the assignments.

Please let me know if you have any questions! I love and miss you all so much!

How are my amazing 7th graders today? I hope you guys have taken time to read the bulletin that I emailed to you and are thinking about a picture you could send me to enter the contest ;) You still have 3 chances to win.

In the next few days you will be getting information about how we will get your things to you that are in your lockers, etc. Please watch for these things on the BAND app and check your email. You will get all your things, and your report cards on May 22nd (the last day of school.) I promise more information will be rolling out about this day soon.

Finally, I am asking that if you are working on a paper packet will you please send me an email to let me know this. I want to make sure you get the credit you deserve, but I am not sure who has worked on the paper packet and who has not.

Remember I am here to help you in any way. I love and miss you all!

  • Happy Star Wars Day!

Posted by Sarah Ratliff on 5/4/2020 4:35:00 AM

I hope you all had a fantastic weekend and got out to enjoy some of the great weather. I am so thankful for it. My husband and I got a chance to get out on the lake for a while yesterday. He loves to bass fish, I just like being outside :)

This week's assignments don’t look much different than last weeks … I really want you to just practice and participate in different skills on KHAN Academy. If you are having trouble with KHAN Academy and would rather work in iXL PLEASE EMAIL ME, and I will give you direction on this process.

Finally, you will be getting an email from me with the weekly bulletin in it. In this bulletin you will see a new challenge / game. Please make sure you participate! (I promise it's easy!)

Remember I am here for you. Please let me know if you or your families need anything.

“May the 4th” be with you…
