Mrs. Sandra Fox
Welcome to Third Grade! I have been teaching third grade at Grandview since the opening in 2008! I have lived in Jonesborough all of my life. In 2018, I became the grandmother of beautiful twin girls! Teaching runs in my family. My son and daughter-in-law are both teachers. During my free time I enjoy going to the beach, mowing the yard, and watching my granddaughters grow! Life is Grand!
Please go to the Continuing Learning Resource Page for additional Learning Resources!
Since we will be out of school students have all their passwords so they may do IXL Math and Language Arts, Read Theory, and Prodigy.
Here are some things that I would like the students to work on while they are out of school:
The No Excuse Word List has been emailed to parents. Students may practice spelling the words, write sentences, make a poster, or other activities they use in spelling. Work may be placed in their spelling folders and will be graded when they return to school.
IXL-Students may use their IXL Account to work on their multiplication facts, division, fractions, adding and subtracting 3 digit numbers. https://www.ixl.com I have also highlighted some skills that your child needs to work on.
IXL-Students may use their IXL Account to work on their Language Arts Skills such as; subject and predicates, nouns, verbs, adjectives and adverbs. I have also highlight some skills that your child needs to work on.
Math-Students may work on their multiplication skills and related division facts. Students may write their multiplication facts and related division facts and return their work to school when they return.
Ready Theory-Students will read a stories on Read Theory and write a summary of each story that they read and return it to school when they return.
Get EPIC-Read stories and then write a summary of the stories that they have read and turn them in when we return to school.
Get EPIC is free access during school hours.
Writing: We have been working on Opinion Writing for the past several weeks.
Please choose one or two of the following and have your child do an opinion writing on:
What is the best thing to do at recess?
What class pet should we have?
Should students have cell phones in school?
Where is the best place to go during the summer?
Should we have technology in our classroom?
What is the best food to eat?
Be sure to keep all of your child's writing so they may turn it in when we come back to school.
