Mr. Rob Cantor
Hello everyone! Welcome to the new school year! I am the 7th and 8th grade math teacher at Fall Branch School. I'm excited to be with you all for the upcoming year.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I am from Kingsport and went to Sullivan South High School. I graduated way back in 1988. Once I graduated, I joined the US Army. I had a great time in the Army jumping out of airplanes and fixing guns. I served many places, including Italy, North Carolina, Maryland, Korea, Washington, and Iraq. I retired in 2009 after serving for 21 honorable years.
While I was in the Army, I was able to complete a Bachelors degree through Thomas Edison State University. When I retired, I completed my Masters of Arts degree at East Tennessee State University. I graduated in 2012 and am highly qualified to teach all subjects in Kindergarten through Eighth grade. I am also highly qualified to teach grades 7-12 History. I recently completed my Educational Specialist Degree in Instructional Leadership with Lincoln Memorial University.
I am married to my wonderful wife and we live in Jonesborough. I have many different hobbies (too many to list probably) but I do enjoy running, gardening, shooting skeet, and working on my truck.
I'm excited to be at Fall Branch this year and I am trying to make some great math lessons for my students. The students will have a great time in my Math class this year! We will be focusing on having a Productive Struggle and learning the 8 Mathematical Practices (and USING them).
Please email me with any questions you have.
