Hello everyone! Have you turned in your library books yet? All students that have turned in their books by May 15th will be entered into a drawing to win a gift card. I will be drawing a name from K-2, 3-5, and 6-8.

If you aren't sure what book you have out or if you think you left it at school you can message me on Dojo. The teachers are turning any library books they find in desks and lockers in to the library.

Get those library books turned in!!

  • National Library Week

Posted by Rebecca Tubbs on 4/24/2020 10:00:00 AM

We are wrapping up National Library Week. Our final question is what is your favorite thing about library?

My favorite is getting new books. I love when I get a shipment of books. I look at all the covers, smell the new book smell, and look at that unbroken spine. I also love show and tell with the new books so I can get the students excited about reading something new.

Today's question is about genres. Do you have a favorite genre (mystery, scifi, fantasy, adventure, etc.)?

I don't typically stay within one genre when reading. I am a huge fan of twisted fairytales. I like to see how an author can change a story that has been around for so long.

Posted by Rebecca Tubbs on 4/22/2020 10:00:00 AM

We are continuing our celebration of National Library Week with Whatcha Reading Wednesday.

I am currently reading 2 books. The first is Song for a Whale. It is a wonderful book out a deaf girl who learns of a whale that can't communicate or hear other whales so the whale is alone. I am loving it so far and highly recommend it.

The second book I am reading is Game Changer. I am currently participating in a book study with librarians around the country on social media. I am excited to learn some new ideas/insight and share with you all next school year.

    What are you reading?
