    Mrs. Miller's Classroom

    I am the K-4 SPED interventionist at Sulphur Springs School.  My daily schedule is working with your students through inclusion and during the Extended Learning Block each day.

    My teaching philosophy is

    "Every student can learn, just not on the same day, or the same way!"

    (Evans, 2011)

    Inclusion:  I go into the General Education classroom and assit the teacher and your students during Reading and Math instruction and practice.  

    Extended Learning Block:  This is a designated time each day for each grade level where all students are placed in small groups based on their placement in Tier I, Tier II, or Tier III.  My students come to me to work on deficit areas through intervention.  We use research based programs such as SPIRE, Sounds Sensible, Orton-Gillingham, MCI and Do the Math during this time.

     I do have a classroom account with Scholastic Reading Club.  I try to send home flyers as often as possible.  You can place your orders online OR you can send your order back to school by using the flyers.  Any purchase you make using our Class Activation Code:  MQMHY earns the classroom points.  I can order books for our classroom library using these points.  My students each have their own tote bag in the classroom where they have picked out leveled readers and books of their choice from the classroom library.
