-
Welcome! My name is Stephanie May and this will be my 19th year of teaching. I attended Washington County Schools as a child. I have a Master's Degree in Teaching from East Tennessee State University.
I am married to Scott May and we live in Johnson City. I talk a lot about my 14-year-old tabby cat, Mad Max. He is a very "wild" child. I keep pictures of him around my classroom. He keeps me busy chasing him and cleaning up his messes. I often start the class day with a "Max Story". I also have a 9-year-old cat named Sassy. She has a lot of energy! My newest addition is a 7-year-old cat named Midnight! She is an amazing hunter. You will hear a lot about all of my "fur babies".
I enjoy teaching and consider my class as my extended family. I believe that learning should be fun as well as informative. By using brain-based strategies, I keep the students engaged and excited in their learning. My goal for the school year is to provide students with the chance to learn and be successful in a safe and engaging environment.
