Welcome to Music! My name is Stacia Howard and I am the PreK-8 general music and drama teacher at Gray. I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Music from the University of Tennessee, a Master of Arts Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Union College, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Lincoln Memorial University. I am licensed in music K-12 as well as K-12 administration.
Obviously my favorite subject is Music! I like lots of musical genres, but some of my favorite groups are The Avett Brothers, Folk Soul Revival, Cake, Squirrel Nut Zippers, Imagine Dragons, Old Crow Medicine Show, and I L♥VE Broadway musicals. The radio in my car is usually tuned to the Broadway channel (72). When not teaching at Gray, I am often found performing with the Milligan Jazz Ensemble, The Has Beens, Jonesborough Repertory Theatre and other groups. When not teaching, rehearsing, and performing, I spend all my time with my husband and our little dachshund family. I also work with several dachshund rescue groups. I have rescued, rehabilitated, and rehomed more than 350 dachshunds over the past 10 years. Dachshunds are my favorite animal ever!
