The department assists in the safety and welfare of faculty, staff, and students by operating and maintaining all security and fire alarm systems, as well as over 250 cameras across the district. All cameras can be remotely accessed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office to further ensure safety in our schools. Washington County utilizes a text message & email alert system to notify staff, families, and the community of important announcements such as school schedule changes or emergencies. Technology is also responsible for the school system’s telephones and intercoms.
