Welcome to Daniel Boone High School. I am so blessed to be part of the Health Science Department.The classes that I teach include Health Science, Forensics, and Certified Nursing Assistant class.

I knew very early that I wanted to be a nurse because I loved helping people in time of need. I first went to LPN school and it was the best thing I ever did. Being an LPN taught me a lot of compassion from bedside nursing care and that when someone is sick and injured they are counting on you to help them. I realized about 4 years later that I wanted to do more so I went on to get my RN and have had the opportunity to work in many areas of healthcare. Those areas included care in neurology which included stroke and brain injury, cardiac units which included the cardiac cath lab, cardiac surgery and cardiac rehab. 

I am so exctied about teaching the Certifieid Nursing Assistant certification class which if you are interested in any part of a healthcare career this program will introduce you to basic care for patients.

HOSA is a very important part of our program. We encourage students to be involved with HOSA. We do a lot of community service projects and competitive events at the regional, state and international levels. The experience that the students get are invaluable.
