  • MONDAY, APRIL 6th 

    3 YEAR OLD ACTIVITIES

    1. Practice saying and spelling your child's name (write or print out his/her name so they can see the letters as you say them)

    2. Follow this link to read "Bear Wants More"

    3. Color bear coloring page

    ** Encourage your child to stretch their attention span during this activity.  Also encourage your child to use multiple colors :) **

    4.  If you have child scissors, have your child cut (or snip) paper any way they would like.  If you do not have child scissors, have them tear paper.

    Assist your child in cutting, snipping, or tearing by doing hand over hand and/or holding the paper for them if needed. This activity is meant to strengthen fine motor muscles.

    ** Don't forget to make your child part of the "clean up crew" for this activity ;) **

    MOST IMPORTANTLY....HAVE FUN!!!

     

     

    4 YEAR OLD ACTIVITIES

    1. Trace or write name on Name Tracing Sheet (found above) or here

    2. Complete Alphabet Hide and Seek for 8 letters 

    ** Have your child find a letter and color in the cooresponding circle for 8 letters **

    3. Complete Ready to Roll!

    ** If your child needs assistance writing numbers, write them first with a yellow marker or highligher and have your child trace them **

    4. Follow this link to read "Bear Wants More"

    5. Draw a picture of bear and write a sentence about your picture. Use this writing sheet to draw your picture

    ** Remind your child to use details ;) **

    ** Have your child dictate the sentence while you write (yellow marker or highlighers work best), and then have them trace the words **

    6. If you have child scissors, have your child cut paper (give cues to cut certain shapes, etc if you'd like).  If you do not have child scissors, have your child tear the paper.

    TUESDAY, APRIL 7th

     

    1. Trace or write name on Name Tracing Sheet (found above) or here

    2. Complete Alphabet Hide and Seek for 8 more letters

    ** Have your child locate a letter around the house (hint: food containers) and color in the cooresponding circle for 8 letters **

    3. Complete Flower Power Math

    ** if your child needs more guidance and help with numbers, this is a great alternative...Flower Power Math 1-10 **

    4. Follow this link to read, "When Spring Comes"

    5. Go on a walk!  Talk about what you hear, see, and smell.  Collect nature items, then come home and make a collage!

    ** email me a picture of your child and their collage (Larsonj@wcde.org)...I miss their faces!! **

    6. Fine Motor: Play with Play-Doh!  Make shapes, letters, and numbers.  Make flowers.  Roll it into balls.  Cut it with scissors.  Just have fun!!

    Remember: When parenting + teaching feels too heavy, drop the assignment and snuggle up and read together.  Reading is enough! 

     


     

    WEDNESDAY, APRIL 8th

    3 YEAR OLD ACTIVITIES

    3. Trace and color this BUNNY

    ** Your child may need hand over hand assistance when tracing this bunny.  This is a great link that models hand over hand assistance with children. **

    ** To help with appropriate crayon grasp, break your crayons in half before giving them to your child (don't let them see you break them) **

    ** Encourage your child to stretch their attention span during this activity.  Also encourage your child to use multiple colors :) **

    4. Have fun with Play-Doh!  Roll out some shapes, cut it with scissors, make snakes, break out the cookie cutters...just have fun! 

    This activity is meant to strengthen fine motor muscles!
