• Mystery Sight Word Activity

This is a fun way to practice reading sight words. First you will need to get your materials together. On each piece of white paper, use a white crayon to write one sight word. Then have you child color (using marker or highlighter) on each square that you wrote a sight word on in white crayon. After they color, they will see the word. Have them read the word and then you can have them uncover another sight word by coloring it in with a different color. I have used this with many students in different grades and it is very fun and interactive!

    Materials:

    • White paper (folded in to eight sections and cut apart)
    • White crayon
    • Markers or highlighters
    • Another piece of white paper (so you don't get marker on your table)

  • Play-do Sight Word Activity

This is a  fun sight word activity that is super easy and fun to do. All you need is play-do and a toothpick. You will say a sight word/red word to your child. Your child will write the sight word/red word from memory in the play-do. You can have them say each letter as they write it and then say the whole word when they are done. I have included a video on how to do this. I hope you all enjoy doing this activity!

    Materials:

    • Play-do (dark colors work best)
    • Toothpicks
