MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – A year after being disappointed with a state runner-up finish a year ago, David Crockett high jumper Addisyn Rowe will leave with the top prize this year. Rowe claimed just the fourth state title in David Crockett history Thursday at the TSSAA Class AAA State Track & Field Championships at MTSU’s Dean Hayes Soccer & Track Stadium. Struggling in the later part of the season to get past 5-4, Rowe easily clipped that mark with a 5-6 and to claim the gold medal with room to spare as no other jumper cleared higher than 5-2. Rowe joins dual 1999 state shot put champions Brad Kyker and Susanna Robertson and 1979 decathlon state titlist Gary Rose as Pioneers to win a state championship. Crockett’s Daniela Palomino threw the discus 108-2, good for a seventh-place finisher. 2017 TSSAA Girls State Track & Field Championships Dean Hayes Soccer & Track Stadium May 22-25, 2017
