Seniors...Tennessee Promise Deadline is Nov. 1st, 2023!!!APPLY to the Tennessee Promise Scholarship Program.This is the scholarship to attend Community or Technical College for 2 years for free!!!Dual Enrollment Information for 2023-24 School YearBelow you will find the presentations from our DE Planning night that was held early March. We would also like to add that there will be 3 new programs offered at TCAT/Boones Creek in the fall: 1) Cosmetology, 2) Industrial Electricity, and 3) Building Construction (Carpentry, Masonry, Rough Plumbing/Electrical). These programs will be at TCAT for half of the day. If started junior year, a student could have the certificate when they graduate from high school. If you have questions, please reach out to your Counselor. These programs are FREE, and transportation is provided if needed.

Need help finding resources? Contact 2-1-1 is an organization assisting Northeast Tennessee. They can help with abuse, loneliness, depression, temporary financial assistance, medical direction, support group information, crisis intervention, senior assurance calls, volunteer opportunities and much more. They work with over 600 community agencies that can meet your needs. Families can contact 211 by Calling - (423) 246-2273, Texting – 898211, or Clicking - Contact211NETN.org. They are open Monday through Friday 9 am to 9 pm. Voice messages left after hours will be returned the next business day. Services are free and confidential.

The 2024-25 FAFSA is being redesigned for simplicity. It is not expected to be available until December 2023. We will update this space as we get more information.

*BY NOV 1, 2023 - APPLY to the Tennessee Promise Scholarship Program
*FALL - Apply to community/technical college. DBHS College App day will be in the library all day on Sept. 22. Lots of colleges offer FREE admission during this week!!!
*Starting DEC 2023 - FILE the 2024-25 FAFSA. You will use 2022 income tax return. The deadline to file FAFSA is April 15th, 2024...however, filing early can make you eligible for additional funds. Go ahead and get you and your parent's FSA ID NOW! Stop by the Counseling Office to find out how! Watch for Jan/Feb FAFSA FRENZY events at DBHS to assist you if you need help in filing.
*Attend a mandatory meeting on January 8th @ 3:15. Failure to attend will result in the loss of the Tennessee Promise scholarship. The meeting will be at DBHS.
*BETWEEN NOV 2, 2023 and BY JULY 5, 2024 - Complete and SUBMIT your first 8 hours of community service.
