Announcements for May 6, 2022
The choral department will be performing “From Screen to Stage” on Wednesday during 5th period. Tickets will be on sale today, Tuesday, & Wednesday during lunch in the upper commons area. Tickets are $3 for anyone!
Students, please remember that fighting or horseplay that gets out of control will result in charges being placed against you by Officer Shaffer and the Washington County Sheriff’s Office. This will result, not only in suspension, but in court costs up to around $1000 for your parents along with probable probation when you appear in court. If you video a fight or altercation and post it to social media, you can be charged with cyberbullying.
Let’s congratulate our new EMT students, who have passed their National exam, and have just been recently licensed by the State of Tennessee!

Chess Club will meet today Wednesday, May 4th, in F-4 from 3:00 - 4:00 pm. Come and play chess in a casual and comfortable atmosphere. If you would like to learn how to play, we will teach you!
This is a reminder to all the students who have signed up to take Mrs. Davenport’s piano class next semester (whether it was on your list or as your alternative choice), be sure to get those applications in to her by THIS FRIDAY, May 6. See her if you need one.
This Friday at 2:00 p.m., we will have a signing in the gym for Allison and Madison Silvers. These young ladies will be cheering at Tusculum.
Seniors, the counseling office has applications for two different Ruritan scholarships. Check your Canvas for details and let them know if you have any questions.
If you like to ride a bicycle and would be interested in joining a mountain biking team please see Gloria Dixon for more information. There are opportunities for college scholarships. Flyers with more information can be found on the bulletin boards with more information as well.
STUDENTS: Mr. Scott and Mr. Day have informed us that you are not parking in your assigned parking spaces! Some students who do not have parking permits are even parking in visitor spots. PARK IN THE SPOT YOU OWN ONLY!! We will begin checking the parking lot and those parked in the wrong spots may be towed.
Juniors…..please check your email. Mrs. Cheney sent you an email with directions on how to schedule your Senior pictures that will be taken here at school on June 6th and 7th and July 20th. All the info you need to know is in this email and it is very important that you check it. Also posted on Facebook @DavidCrockettMedia.
Sports physicals will be held here at DCHS on May 18th from 8:00 till 11:30. Cost is $20. You must have a physical dated after April 15th, 2022 to participate in ANY sports If you have a physical dated after April 15, 2021, you are eligible for sports until dead period this summer. After dead period, that physical is no longer valid and you must have one dated after April 15, 2022. Get your physical here at the school and you will have it done and in order!
Seniors - you must complete your Senior Exit Survey as soon as possible! This can be found in your Class of 22 Counseling Canvas course.
SENIORS - Order and prepay for your Class of 2022 Yard Sign in the bookstore! Signs are only $20.
The senior class parade will be on Saturday, May 14 at 6:00 p.m.
FCA will meet in the weight room on Tuesdays at 7:15. You do NOT have to be an athlete to attend.
STUDENTS: REMEMBER THE SPEED LIMIT ON CAMPUS IS 10 MPH! IF REPORTED FOR SPEEDING ON CAMPUS, YOUR PARKING PERMIT AND DRIVING PRIVILEGES ON SCHOOL PROPERTY MAY BE SUSPENDED.
STUDENTS: If you are going home on a different bus or getting off your bus at a different spot, you must bring the office a note stating what you are doing and your parent or guardian has to call the office and confirm the note. We will sign the note and you can pick it up to give to the bus driver. Bus drivers will not let you on a different bus or off at a different stop without a note signed by the office.
Compulsory Attendance Forms are required for students to get their driver permit. Application forms are available in the front office. Please allow 24-48 hours before the form is required. The compulsory attendance form will only be completed the same day as requested in emergency situations.
Beta Club meets the first Tuesday of each month at 7:15 a.m. in F3 (Mr. Harris' room).
Chess Club meets every other Wednesday from 3:00-4:00 p.m. in F-4.
Creative Writing Club meets every other Tuesday from 2:50-3:30 p.m. in N-2.
FCA meets every Tuesday morning at 7:15 a.m. in the top of the gym.
FRC (First Robotics Competition) Rat Rod Robotics Team 5022 will meet every Tuesday at 3:30 in Mr. McAmis’s room/NA-6.
HOSA meets Tuesdays in the Old Annex after school at 3pm.
Spanish Honor Society will meet every other Wednesday at 7:15 a.m. in O-3.
Spanish Club will meet every other Tuesday after school in O-3.
Student Council meets every Wednesday @ 7:20 a.m. in the Library.
TSA (Technology Student Association) will meet every Tuesday at 3:00 p.m. in Mr. McAmis’ room/NA-6.
