Based on the latest information received from TDOE personnel this afternoon, there is a serious delay with Measurement Incorporated’s publication of 3rd-8th grade student test booklets.  Washington County WILL NOT administer the TCAP/TNReady Achievement assessment Wednesday, April 27th as previously scheduled in grades 3-8 because we have NO student test booklets.

When the test materials DO arrive, there will be at least a 2-day window for test coordinators to organize the testing materials at the schools prior to administering the 3rd-8th grade assessments to students.  We will not establish a revised test schedule at this time until we receive the actual test booklets.  We do know that there will be no state testing after Tuesday, May 10th.

Attention Parents of Upcoming 7th Graders:

Your student must have a TDAP booster and chicken pox immunization before entering 7th grade. If they have not been vaccinated, they will be excluded from school and it will be an UNEXCUSED absence. If you have questions, please contact our school nurse, Melissa Shaw, at 753-1195.

School News:

Washington County Health Department in collaboration with the Johnson City and Washington County School Systems is offering a late afternoon immunization clinic by appointment only for children in the 6th – 12th grades.  This clinic is to assist in better preparing children entering the 7th grade and High School adolescents who plan on attending college in need of required immunizations such as the Tdap, Varicella (Chicken pox), MMR, Meningococcal, and other vaccines parents/guardians may request.

This clinic will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Washington County Health Department.  Call for your child’s appointment at (423) 975-7940.  If your child has Health Insurance, please bring that information with you to this appointment.  Also bring your child’s immunization history (card).
