Washington County Commission Meeting
Monday, June 27th, 6:00
New Justice Center in Jonesborough
Courtroom 7
Public Hearing at 5:00

The Washington County Commission will be voting on the county budget for next year
during their meeting on June 27th.  The NEW Boones Creek School is included in the
budget proposal and will cost taxpayers an additional 14 cents.  A budget hearing
will be held at 9:00 am in order to hear comments from the citizens.
I encourage you to arrive prior to 9:00 and sign up to speak in favor of building a New school for Boones Creek.  Nineteen commissioners have already voted in support of building a new school.  Call the commissioners and thank them for their support.  You can bet that the commissioners are hearing from those who are opposed.  Don't let a very vocal minority discourage anyone from supporting our schools.

This will be a K-8 school combining both Boones Creek Elementary and Boones Creek Middle School.  The current middle school was built in 1939 and has served the community well for the past 77 years.  It is Time to build now for the future and provide for our students now and years to come.  Wear school shirts or school colors of red/black and make signs supporting the new school.  Hope to see you at the commission meeting because this will be crucial to getting a new school built for our community.
Thank you, Mike Edmonds, BCMS Principal
