(Dads Of Great Students) Program
Dads and Kids’ Pizza Night to kick off an innovative father involvement program called WATCHD.O.G.S.® (Dads Of Great Students). WATCH D.O.G.S. ® is the father involvement initiative of the National Center For Fathering. Inspired by one father’s desire to increase male involvement in his children’s school and with the help of the schools teachers and administration, WATCH D.O.G.S was created in 1998 at George Elementary in Springdale, AR.
Ridgeview School Turns Trash Into Treasure
Through The TREX Recycling Program
At an assembly on Friday, August 14, 2015, Emily Parton from the Gray, Tennessee Food City announced that Ridgeview School had collected about 10.7 lbs. of plastic per student with a total student population of approximately 700 students. In honor of their efforts, Ridgeview was recognized as one out of four schools in Tennessee to be the top collectors for the program in 2014-15. The School was presented with a stylish and functional bench constructed entirely out of recycled plastic.
