Any time you plan to invite an outside agency (Vocational Rehabilitation or a Dept. of Mental Retardation case worker, for example) . . .

• You must have written permission from the parent.
• The agency representative must be invited in a manner that they can attend.  He/she must be given adequate notice to ensure that he/she will be able to attend.
• Document in the "contacts" tab in the IEP all attempts to enlist agency representative's participation in the meeting.  Also, be sure to file a copy of any written communication.

Use the CONSENT TO INVITE OUTSIDE AGENCIES form to obtain parental permission to invite an outside agency.
