ETSU's Rural High School Medical Camp |

The program is focused on rural high school students who would like to have a future in medicine and who would like to get a glimpse into the health sciences field. Participants are encouraged to consider a career that may have previously appeared out of reach and give them a set of experiences to guide them for preparation to enter medical school.
- Students are introduced to disciplines of medicine with hands on experience, through one-week of didactics.
- Participants reside on campus, participate in job shadowing, enjoy field trips, and hear several lectures.

Must be at least 16 years old.
- Up to 22 rural high school students can participate.
- Cost of camp: $175
- Cost includes: room, all meals, entertainment, and transportation
- Dates: Sunday-Friday, June 9-14, 2013

- A series of summer engineering programs for rising 7th to 12th grade students entitled "Introduction to Engineering" will be offered.
- INSTEP (for rising 9th and 10th graders)
- HITES (for rising 11th and 12th graders)
- HITES I: July 15-19, 2012
- HITES II: July 22-26, 2012
- 32 students will be selected to participate in each program. Hands-on activities will spark an interest in the world of engineering and allow students to explore career opportunities.

University of TN Reading Skills and Speed Reading Programs for Children and Adults |

- Program for entering 9th-11th graders:
- Students will make substantial gains in comprehension while doubling reading speed. Students will learn the best way to read textbooks, take notes, and study for tests. Students will complete homework more quickly and easily, get better grades, and enjoy reading more.
- Program for entering 12th graders:
- Participants will double their reading speed in difficult material and triple your reading speed in easier material, while improving comprehension, concentration, and recall. As a result, participants will save a lot of time and get more out of everything that is read.
- Programs meet in Johnson City and Kingsport and will meet once each week.

- Live in a residence hall and enjoy social and cultural opportunities with other scholars from around the world.
- High School Summer Institutes (3 weeks, noncredit)
- Explore an area of interest under the guidance of Washington University instructors.
- Live on campus and gain valuable academic experience.
- Choose from the Writing Institute, Pre-Medical Institute, or the Photojournalism Institute.
