What is the Fast Track Program? The Career Fast Track Program is a partnership between area high schools, local industries, and Northeast State Community College. The program provides highly motivated high school students the opportunity to pursue a more challenging academic program in high school by completing seven (7) to nine (9) hours of college-level credit in an industrial technology or health-related professions field prior to high school graduation. How Fast Track Works Students admitted to the program will be enrolled in either the industrial technology degree/ certificate program, or the health-related professions program at Northeast State during the second semester of the senior year of high school. Students successfully completing designated courses will receive college-level credit as well as credit toward a high school diploma. Students completing four designated courses may be eligible to enroll in paid co-op programs with local industry while continuing their educational program at Northeast State. How to get on the Fast Track • Must be recommended by the high school career technical education director. • Students enrolling in Career Fast Track courses must have an ACT sub-score of 19 in English and 19 in Reading. Students enrolling in selected math course requiring math as a prerequisite must have a minimum ACT sub-score of 19. Students completing the SAT must have a SAT composite score of 920 with minimum scores of 460 in math and 460 verbal. • Must have an interest in a technical education or health professions career field with a goal of attaining an associate of applied science degree or technical certificate. • Must meet all Northeast State admissions requirements. • Must complete all the forms below as an application packet:
