On behalf of the administration, faculty, and staff, I am honored to welcome you to the 2012-2013 school year at Ridgeview Elementary School.  Whether you are new to our building, our district, or are returning for another year, please be assured that we are all dedicated to providing an educational experience of the highest quality for each and every student that walks through our doors!  Throughout the 2012-2013 school year, we will hold the highest academic and behavioral expectations for all school community stakeholders.  We shall hold ourselves, our school community, and our students accountable for cultivating an environment conducive to raising productive, well-rounded, high performing, self-reliant citizens.  Working together, we can provide a superior academic foundation for our students.  In this regard, our journey toward renewing all academic curricula aligned with supportive instructional methodologies has commenced.  This year, we are implementing Common Core Standards in Math and Reading/Language Arts as well as our fifth and eighth graders will be taking the TCAP Writing test on the computers.

I hope you will take part in your child’s education by inquiring about their time spent at school.  Ask about their friends and teachers.  Get involved as they complete their homework or need your help on projects.  Encourage your child to read daily and quiz them on their readings.  I am confident that your child will demonstrate greater motivation as you continue to show interest in the academic and social experience.  We will certainly work on our end to provide your child with the best education possible.  Let’s work together to make this an excellent school year in every way.
