Where can I find a list of supplies my child will need to bring to class?

It is the policy of Washington County Schools to not publish supply lists. Check with your child's homeroom teacher about daily materials that are used.
May students living outside of the Gray school zone attend Gray School?
A
Gray School is one of two county schools zoned due to overcrowding. To attend Gray School you must live within the school zone. New students must prove their residency by showing a utililty bill with their address located within our school zone. Please bring this with you at registration.
Students are dismissed to homerooms at 8:20, with the tardy bell ringing at 8:30. Any student arriving after 8:30 should report to the office for a tardy slip. The school day ends at 3:30.
Are family members allowed to eat lunch with students?

Yes! However, there are special tables for family and students to sit. Friends are not allowed to sit at these tables unless his/her family member(s) are present.
Will my child's teacher be able to meet with me at any time during the day?

While we welcome visitors at Gray School, it is always best to notify your child's teacher prior to coming to school. Sometimes daily schedules are altered and even during planning times teachers may not always be available.
Will my child be allowed to call home in case of an early dismissal?

Please make sure that you have completed an emergency closing form for your child. It is also a good idea to discuss with your child what he/she should do in the case of an early dismissal. Office phones need to remain open for calls regarding changes in transportation, etc...
How can I find out about Gray School's rules & procedures?

All students are given a handbook at the beginning of the year. There is a form that must be signed and returned, indicating that both the student and family member(s) have read the handbook.
Many classrooms provide multiple ways to help out. Check with your child's homeroom teacher about ways that you can be of assistance. Also, check with PTO about becomig a volunteer through the PASS Program. There is a meeting early in the year regarding this Program.
How often will I be informed of my child's progress?

Mid-terms are sent home every 4 1/2 weeks. Report cards are sent home every nine weeks. Graded work and behavior reports are sent home daily or weekly.
