David Crockett High School Festival Of Bands

As we begin the planning stages for the 29th Annual David Crockett High School Festival Of Bands, let me extend to you and your fine band this invitation to participate in our festival. We have learned from past festivals that many band directors like to have an early "tune-up" festival so all the little "bugs" can be caught before they become lasting problems. We gear our festival to help supply these needs. The bands are judged and critiqued by four band judges and one judge each for Drum Major, Color Guard, Majorettes, and Percussion. At the end of your performance, the judges will come down form the press box to have a verbal critique with you and your students. Trophies are awarded for "Best Of Class" for Drum Major, Color Guard, and Percussion in each class. The bands are awarded divisional trophies based on the following scale:

Division I * 85 - 100 Superior

Division II * 70 - 84.9 Excellent

Division III * Below 70 Good

Band Classification is determined by the total number of wind players:

Class A * 0 to 25 Wind Players

Class AA * 26 to 50 Wind Players

Class AAA * 51 to 75 Wind Players

Class AAAA = 76 or more Wind Players

This year's festival will be held at David Crockett High School on Saturday, September 30, 2017. All entries must be postmarked by September 15, 2017. The order of performance will be determined by the number of wind players with the smaller band performing first. An entry fee of $75.00 must accompany the entry form.

Please mark your calendar now and make plans to participate in our 29th Annual David Crockett High School Festival Of Bands. If you have any questions please call. The number is (423) 753-8110.

Looking forward to seeing you!
